STILL THE BEST [MACARONS] IN SYDNEY…

November 17, 2012 · by  · in [ EAT ]

I became a fan of macarons from....probably last year, I remembered I was attracted by some photos in a Chinese magazine. The magazine introducing the “best macarons in Sydney”, all those colourful photographs grabbed my attention in no time. I fell in love with macarons.
Nowadays, macarons everywhere, they are on advertisements, they are on magazines, they are in cafes…etc. Suddenly we are all surrounded by macarons. So…where can we find the best macarons in Sydney?? It all depends…whether you like crunchy shell, softer shell, classic flavour or flavours with more creativity. Its all depends on what you like. (SO blurr) :D
I have only tried baroque, zumbo, Laduree and Lindt cafe. Baroque’s macarons are the first macarons I tried, it was in a dark night, me and my friends trolled along the Rocks. We bought a few macarons and enjoyed them under the starry sky. After that, I was crazy about macarons. I have tried to make my own, but its always failed…Eventually I got it very very similar once, however the shells are a bit empty.
Anyways, today I went to the LuminoCity exhibition again…the pier is empty today, I hang around and looked at all the work more seriously. Counted my business cards seems around 10 of them are gone! Excited! :)
So after exhibition, we naturally headed to the direction of baroque! However, it was closed until 6pm. Luckily I know there is a cafe nearby that sell baroque’s macarons, so I got 5 macarons in total : Jasmin green tea, Mango and lime, Salted caramel and Milk chocolate. :P
Baroque uses Italian method to do their macarons, the outcome would be a more stable and with shells that are more dense. Probably people would think it as less airy inside, but I personally prefer a denser shells. The texture would be between crunchy and moist. The ganache has a very delicate flavour, but not too sweet, thats what I like about baroque’s macarons.
Zumbo’s macarons have very interesting flvours, however, the textures are a bit dry and flat. Tastes doesn’t stand out enough for me. Laduree’s macarons are just so disappointed for me…I don’t understand what’s good about them…I forget what they taste like right after I ate them…

LUMINOCITY EXHIBITION!! OPENING TONIGHT

November 15, 2012 · by  · in [ LIFE ]

Finally, 5 years of architecture studies becomes real tonight…
We arrived at the Circular Quay, friends suggested that we can take taxi but I prefer walking so…we walked for 15 mins and arrived the Pier! Getting excited! The entrance doesn’t have much decoration to attract attention though… I am pretty sure there won’t be lots of people enter during normal days.
There was a bus advertistment being seen at a bus leaving Circular Quay, seems like a big event! :D
Big notice after we entered the Pier
The Pier is much bigger than I expected, dark inside. Waiters and waitresses moving around with finger food and drink, I guess we got a lot of funding from our sponsor. There is Architecture computing and industrial design section when I got in, but master of architecture has the opening night first, so the other parts are just quiet. I kind of like the exhibition space a lot, the ceiling is high, the lighting are dim everyone looks happy and pretty (becuz of the light?). I was wandering around my work for most of the night just to see what people’s reaction when they saw my work! And there is a guy from the Sydney transportation sth department, he is also developing the Sydney Entertainment Center area in the FJMT team! He told me quite a lot about what he did, very nice talking to him. Of cuz he said my work is good , I think he is just being polite haha
Tonight just felt like my study is truly coming to an end, we are ready to move on to another stage from this exhibition.

TO THE MOON [PREVIEW] ……

I have happened to finish my all-time favourite game “Final Fantasy 7″ recently, it was a game that I have been playing since I was probably 10. Love this game so much I always stop playing before I got to the boss just to try extending the game. Few days ago, I decided to end it eventually. Need a fresh new start, whats in the past better just leave it in the past. So these few days I am looking for a new game to play with. Having been out of the game market for a while, I noticed there are not much progress of PC games in these past few years. This is an era of TV games, PC games are stepping down and down each year. I might try Final Fantasy 9 / Kingdom Hearts, but I need something smaller to be the buffer zone before I step into another big RPG game. So I found this little game – [ To the moon], this game is on the top 10 rank of best PC games ever. What? The game only takes 75 MB!! Aren’t new games suppose to take up at least 1GB ? Plus, the poster of this game looks so nice I am completely drawn into the mood of playing this game.
So I searched for reviews online. Everyone mentioned its exceptionally outstanding story line. No fancy graphics, no 3D, no fighting scenes, nothing like those new come out games from big producers. However, it touches so many people’s hearts. I found the theme song online, it makes me sad already…
I’m going to play it tomorrow….get back here soon

PRICELESS – 木村拓哉TAKUYA KIMURA!

Recently watching this new Japanese TV series – Priceless by our favourite 木村拓哉Takuya Kimura.
This is a refreshing story, talking about the main character dropped from a quite high position in his company to a person with no money at all. Apparently someone set him up, that person even burnt his house. Kiumra has no money at all and had to pick cans and learn tricks from street kids to earn money.
I really enjoy the tone of this tv series, its not pushy and its not too slow. Good one to watch during holiday!
P.S. I feel that Kimura is the same in all tv series he act in…he is so…him
