I have never been a fashionable person…Only I would sometimes watch
“America next top model” or ” Project Runway”, and I have paid certain
interesting while I read my favourite magazine Glamour…
Funnily, this summer I want to work a bit to earn some money since we
have booked a trip to New Zealand for 5 days! But this trip needs quite
a lot of money…so what I need is a high paid summer job, so I asked
Nicole if she can introduce me into her store to be a sales person. I
have never been a salesperson. I have done horse stables, telephone
surveyor, architecture internship and cosmetic product promoter but no
sales experience at all (Although I put H & M into my resume!
hahaha). Anyways, dressing up and standing looking glamorous is always
seems like a good idea to me.
So I went to do this job trial 2 days ago, surprisingly I wasn’t
nervous at all. Probably cuz I don’t need this job desperately
so…whatever. I got into the store and talked to the first salesgirl I
found, her name is Berry. Woo her hair is sooo long, like its longer
than her waist! Anyways she is probably the nicest person in store. The
other girl named Stephanie….err, she was so cool at the start. But
after I started talking to her in Chinese, she suddenly becomes very
nice. Yeaa I think I can be friend with her.
The fashion in store are very…..feminine. Like Versace, Armani and
lots of other Italian brands, I believe those outfits are actually very
fashionable but its soo not my style…And the worst thing is, I still
need to praise those customers, ” Woo, your dress matches your jeans
sooo well!” ” This outfit goes perfectly with your skin tone”….=.= I
don’t quite understand how, those customers seem to like hearing this
kind of stuff.
The first 2 hours are quite slow, around 3pm I was assigned to
another branch only 2 blocks away. OHH I like that branch, the things
they sold are so much cheaper and the place is soo much smaller and
busier. I love this shop, there are so many customers to keep me busy
all the time, 3 hours passed in a flash. And there are 2 salesgirls, one
named Priscilla and the other I forgot…she’s from France, they are so
nice and welcoming.
There was an Asian girl came into the store with a friend, I think
she is a bit shopaholic…She kept trying on shoes and eventually she
bought like 5 pairs of them, I heard she murmuring to her friend, saying
its her ” Shopping therapy”…She must’ve just gone through a breakup so
something. But I’m grateful since they marked my name on the receipt so
its like I am the one who sold those shoes. It must be quite impressive
since it’s only my first trial of work. And another Asian woman, she
came into the store and asked me what is a size 6 in terms of EU size…I
bluff and told her its size 37…haha, and she asked me what is the most
important, the length or the width of the shoes. I bluff again saying
length is more important cuz in width, you can adjust it with the shoe
laces anyways. She believed it and thank me for telling her this
information, she is so lovely
This day of trial is a nice experience, the fun part is that I can
bluff a lot of things and people believe me. (since they don’t know its
only my first day of work..hehe)
Now I need to wait for a call for 2nd trial, will they call? I don’t
know~ And I don’t really care actually, I think I like doing
Architecture more…I should start my portfolio…
